Davante Adams apologizes for shoving soundman to ground after Raiders’ loss to Chiefs

The Raiders’ final offensive play of their 30-29 loss to the Chiefs on Monday night was a pass that appeared to be intended for star receiver Davante Adams.

Adams had a big night, catching three passes for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns. But on that final play from scrimmage, Adams collided with fellow receiver Hunter Renfrow, and the pass from Derek Carr was incomplete.

Clearly frustrated, Adams was headed to the locker room at Arrowhead Stadium after the game when he shoved a man, who was working as a photographer or maybe part of the sound crew.

The man was knocked to the ground and Adams barely broke his stride on the way to the tunnel.

This is a shocking sight.

ESPN reported the man was a freelancer working on the “Monday Night Football” production.

After the game, Adams apologized before taking any questions from reporters and said the man had fun in front of him.

“Before I answer anything else, I want to apologize to the guy,” Adams said. “There was some guy running off the field and he ran and jumped in front of me. We were coming off the field and I bumped into him and kind of pushed him, and he ended up on the ground.

“I would like to say I’m sorry to him for that. That was just frustration mixed with running and literally running in front of me. I shouldn’t have responded that way but that’s how I, initially, responded so I want to apologize to him for that.”

Adams also wrote an apology on Twitter.

“Sorry to the guy I pushed over after the game,” Adams tweeted. “Obviously very frustrated at the way the game ended and when he ran infront of me as I exited that was my reaction and I felt horrible immediately. Thats not me..MY APOLOGIES man hope you see this.”

There was no word on whether or not the man was injured in the incident. But he did seem to be OK as he was helped back up by an Arrowhead Stadium security officer.

The NFL undoubtedly will view the video and we’ll see if there is any punishment from the league.

Adams’ anger was fueled by the way the game ended, and cameras showed him slam his helmet on the sideline.
