WORCESTER — Hip-hop legend Darryl "DMC" McDaniels visited the Worcester Alternative School Wednesday to discuss mental health issues, a topic of his memoir "Ten Ways Not To Commit Suicide."

McDaniels, one-third of the noted Run-DMC, has publicly discussed his battle with depression in recent years. His appearance at the Worcester school coincided with the students reading his book.

After his speech to students, McDaniels signed autographs and posed for pictures.

It was not the first visit to the city for McDaniels. Run-DMC was part of the lineup for the Family Values music tour that played Worcester Centrum Center in September 1999.
