The music ability of four South Carolina football players caught the eye of Darius Rucker.

The Gamecocks hosted a talent show for freshmen Wednesday, and a group of players decided to play Rucker’s hit song “Wagon Wheel.”

Freshman offensive lineman Jackson Hall posted video of their performance to Twitter, and Rucker replied.

“Bringing it!!” Rucker wrote. “Go Cocks!!”

Head coach Shane Beamer saw Rucker’s shoutout and chimed in as well.

“Appreciate you @dariusrucker!!” Beamer replied on Twitter.

Hall is playing the guitar in the video, and his fellow singers are Zavier Short, Chase Sweigart and Nate Adkins — a graduate student who transferred in from East Tennessee State.

Rucker is originally from Charleston and attended USC, where he formed the iconic music group Hootie & The Blowfish. He released the song “Wagon Wheel” as a solo artist in 2013, covering the original 2004 track performed by Old Crow Medicine Show.
