How Danny Masterson's Wife Responded to His Lengthy Prison Sentence

Danny Masterson's wife Bijou Phillips was present in the Los Angeles court room on Thursday, Sept. 7, as the former That '70s Shows star was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison in his rape case.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Phillips looked "visibly upset" after her husband's sentence was read, as did his mother, Carol Masterson, who was also present for the hearing. The actor's siblings, Alanna, Jordan and Christopher, were all in attendance on Thursday as well, per Variety.

Phillips, 43, kept her sunglasses on throughout the entire hearing, though Variety reports that the actress and model could be seen "crying at the courthouse." She and Masterson's mom were later rushed off into a vehicle at the end of the hearing.

Masterson, 47, was convicted of two counts of rape earlier this year, after being accused of raping three women at his Hollywood Hills home between 2001 and 2003.

When the guilty verdict was read by Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo in L.A. Superior Court back in May, Masterson's wife reportedly let out a painful cry, prompting the judge to urge her to keep her composure, ET reported.

Following Thursday's sentencing hearing, a courtroom sketch depicted Masterson blowing Phillips a kiss before he was led away to prison, PEOPLE reported.

Masterson and Phillips have been married since 2011, and previously welcomed their only child together, Fianna Francis, in February 2014.

As Parade reported earlier, the judge spoke directly to Masterson while declaring his prison sentence, telling the disgraced TV star, "Mr. Masterson, you are not the victim here. Your actions 20 years ago took away another person's choice and voice. Your actions 20 years ago today were criminal, and that's why you are here."

A defense attorney for Masterson—who pleaded not guilty to the charges against him—told PEOPLE that they plan to appeal the actor's convictions.
