Danica Patrick Has Landed A New Broadcasting Gig

In just a few days, the Formula 1 circuit will head to Austin and there will be a very special person on the call for the race.

Sky Sports announced racing legend Danica Patrick is joining the team for this weekend’s qualifying events and race day. “I’m really excited,” said Patrick in an announcement from Sky Sports earlier this week.

She previewed the race and said she’s looking forward to the battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.

“I love the fact that we’ve got Lewis trying to be the GOAT with most wins, most poles and most championships, and he’s really looking to win his eighth, against someone who’s young, hungry and just dying to make that not happen for him. It’s been so interesting to watch.”

Hamilton and Verstappen are separated by just six points and are the clear favorites to win the championship this season.

Earlier this week, Danica Patrick opened up on the sport’s growing popularity in American and how an American driver could take the sport to the next level in the United States.

“100 percent. You nailed it,” Patrick told ESPN ahead of this week’s race. “If it’s really going to start gaining and continuing to gain traction in the States the fans here are going to need someone to cheer for.”

The race kicks off at 3:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
