‘Dancing With the Stars’ Mark Ballas Welcomes First Child With Wife BC Jean

Mark Ballas

Dancing With the Stars' Mark Ballas and singer-songwriter BC Jean are officially first-time parents!

The couple, who've been married since 2016, welcomed their first child in November, taking to social media to announce the happy news of their bundle of joy's arrival on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

“Welcome to Earth my son ✨,” Ballas captioned a vintage-filtered photo of himself and Jean holding the baby’s hand. “Banksi Wylde Ballas 11/5/23.”

Plenty of Ballas' DWTS colleagues flooded into the comments with congratulations, including Julianne Hough, who wrote, "I love you Banksi 🥹❤️," and Carrie Ann Inaba, who wrote, in part, "So happy for you all. ❤️."

The dance show alum and the “I’ll Survive You” songstress initially announced that they were expecting via Instagram video in June.

“Lately we’ve been making new music, making birthday wishes, went to Disneyland, made more music stuff, turned off our phones and went to the beach,” read the text in the Reel, which featured clips of the couple together. “Also we’ve been making a tiny human. Coming soon.”

The news that the duo was growing their family came three months after Ballas officially confirmed his retirement from DWTS. As Parade previously reported, the pro dancer returned to the competition series for Season 31 last year following a lengthy hiatus.

After returning and partnering with Charlie D'Amelio, he walked away victorious, winning the Mirrorball Trophy.

"I just want to finish this by saying I've done 20 seasons now,” an emotional Ballas told the audience at the time of his second departure. “I was 21, 22, and honestly, being able to dance and perform for you fans, you guys are the best fans. Thank you. So, I just want to finish by saying, this will be the last time you'll see me dance in this capacity. I'm coming to a close tonight. It's going to be my last dance."
