Dallas police seize tiger along with dogs, chickens in animal cruelty investigation

Officers found a tiger in an enclosure and other animals Friday in an animal cruelty investigation, the Dallas Police Department said in a news release.

Dallas police executed four search warrants in the ongoing investigation.

During one of the searches, in the 5700 block of Johnson Lane in Oak Cliff, officers found and seized the tiger in an enclosure on the property, according to the release.

Officers also located and seized dogs, roosters and chickens, the release said.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Office of Law Enforcement and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are assisting in the investigation.

The Dallas Zoo and Dallas Animal Services are also assisting the police department.

Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
