Thank goodness. After the Dallas Cowboys host the Seattle Seahawks on Friday night at AT&T Stadium, football fans can turn their attention to what really matters: The regular season.

So what do you need to know to get ready for that opener?

Frisco party

Owner Jerry Jones threw his annual preseason party in Frisco on Friday. Complete with the blue carpet and player introductions. The players appeared to enjoy. Of course, they did. The Star-Telegram’s Yffy Yossifor’s images and video captured the feel of the day.

Final preseason game

The Cowboys play the Seahawks at 7 p.m. on Friday in Arlington. Everything you need to know about the broadcast can be found here.

Who to watch?

Most of the projected starters are not playing against the Seahawks. Heck, they have yet to play a down int he preseason. But there are some key players to watch in the game. Clarence Hill details these eight to keep an eye on.

Roster cuts are coming

The Cowboys must trim their roster from 80 to 53 by Tuesday afternoon. Clarence Hill has projected his starting 53-man roster. Of course, that was before there was a key injury this week. The roster will need some adjustments.

Crucial injury this week

Offensive lineman Tyron Smith was injured during practice this week. The All-Pro Cowboy will be out until at least December. What will that mean for the team’s hopes of winning the NFC East again? The Cowboys are thin on the offensive line. Clarence Hill puts that blame squarely on Jones and the front office.

Primetime Game

The season opener will be on primetime TV when the Cowboys face Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs on Sept. 11. It will be broadcast on NBC and kickoff at 8 p.m. The new NBC broadcast team of commentators Mike Tirico Cris and Collinsworth with sideline reporter Melissa Stark.
