Directed by Ms Marvel's Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, the story is set to revolve around Ridley's character as she revives the Jedi Order. Meanwhile, Boyega's character Finn has been rumoured to return as part of Rey's new Jedi Order, after his potential Force-sensitivity has been teased throughout the sequel trilogy

Though she was tight-lipped about any details, Ridley told The Hollywood Reporter that she would definitely like Boyega to be a part of the new movie.

"Absolutely, of course," she said, when asked her opinion on Boyega's potential return. "It feels like we should, yeah."

So far, only Ridley has been confirmed for the new Star Wars movie but there is more than one reason to suggest Finn's return, including his bond with Rey and his promising Force-sensitivity.

Meanwhile, Boyega is already working on a new project after landing the lead role in a prequel series to The Book of Eli.

Set 30 years before the events of the original movie, the prequel will see Boyega play the role of a younger Eli, (originally played by Denzel Washington). The Book of Eli writer Gary Whitta is also on board, with Allen and Albert Hughes (the original movie directors) returning, too. The Hughes brothers will executive produce alongside Boyega.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
