Dachshund’s ‘Embarrassing’ Story of Being Scared by a Cat Has People in Stitches
When taking our pets out on a walk, sometimes they stumble upon things that they're not used to seeing. On a recent walk, Dobby, an adorable Dachshund, and his dad Paul encountered a cat. Paul said that Dobby was trying to be 'big and hard' and intimidating to the cat. It didn't work out that way, though!
Paul shared the story at the beginning of August, and Dobby seems to be embarrassed by the whole situation. He even ends up 'yelling' at his dad by the end of the story! Make sure your sound is on so you can listen to the story, and how Dobby ended up being scared of the cat!
I don't often laugh out loud when watching TikToks, but I did chuckle out loud listening to Paul talk about Dobby's run-in with the cat! I wasn't the only one; people let nearly 5 thousand comments about the funny video. @Jojo pointed out, "He actually looks embarrassed!" @HotTea698 said, "Dobby be like “What happens on walks stays on walks” LOL!" Another commenter laughed, "Dachshunds are actually height challenged Dobermans!" and @mansfield guy added, "And people say they don't understand us.... He knew that ribbing!!!!"

Do Dachshunds Make Good Pets?
Like with any dog breed, it depends on who you ask if Dachshunds make good pets. My sister has two of them and swears they're the best dogs around, but I think they're too yappy for me. Here are some pros and cons that come with bringing a Dachshund home.
Dachshunds are known to be very loyal and affectionate with their humans. Although they love to be active, they also are fine with living in homes with without a whole lot of space, like apartments and condos and with families looking for an indoor pet who doesn't need a lot of exercise. They are playful and fun and get along well with other pets and with children. They love playing outside just as much as they love snuggling up and being couch potatoes.
Dachshunds are known for being quite stubborn, which can make training and housebreaking a challenge. One of their favorite things to do is bark, so if you're looking for a quiet pet, this isn't the breed for you. While Dobby was trying to make a new cat friend on his walk, Dachshunds do not like cats for the most part. If you have a cat already, bringing home a Dachshund could cause problems. Because of the shape of their bodies, they do have some health issues which can make vet care expensive and ongoing.
Whenever you are thinking about getting any pet, listing out the pros and cons can help ensure you make the right choice for your family and your new pet as well. The cons do not mean that they're a "bad" choice, just not right for your family. Every breed has its pros and cons so make sure to do your own research before making a decision that will change your family's life, as well as your new pet's life.
