How the Cybertruck compares to other EV trucks in price, speed, towing capacity and more

Elon Musk made a splash when he officially unveiled the Tesla Cybertruck in Austin on Thursday.

With a stunning geometric design and a slew of features unique to Tesla, the Cybertruck had been one of the most anticipated vehicles for years before its release.

Models are priced between $60,000 and $100,000 with a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds. Some models will have a range of more than 300 miles, according to Tesla, and others can go from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds.

However, as truck lovers and Musk fanatics swoon over this new addition to the Tesla family, how do the Cybertrucks compare to other EV trucks on the market?

Here’s a quick glance at some of the different EV trucks on the market currently. Note, prices vary depending on customer location, model and number of incentives an individual qualifies for.

Rivian R1T

American startup Rivian has quickly gained popularity after releasing its all electric pickup, the R1T, in 2021. In addition to its truck, Rivian offers a seven seat SUV by the name of the R1S.

Here are the stats for the R1T:

  • Prices start at: $73,000

  • Towing capacity: 11,000 lbs

  • Top speed: 110 mph

  • Full battery range: 300 miles

  • Charging speed: 1 hour

Ford F-150 lightning

Firmly the most popular pickup truck in the U.S. — and has been for the last 40 years — the F-150 made waves in 2022 when it came out in EV form.

Here are the stats for the Ford F-150 Lightning:

  • Price range: $60,000 to $100,000

  • Towing capacity: 10,000 lbs

  • Top speed: 110 mph

  • Full battery range: 450 miles

  • Charging speed: 45 minutes

Chevrolet Silverado EV

One of the newest trucks on this list, Chevy’s first truck in the EV market came out in the spring of 2023. The Silverado remains one of the most popular trucks in America, and Chevy is hoping its EV version will help it stake a claim in the market.

Here are the stats for the Chevrolet Silverado EV:

  • Price range: $39,900 to $105,000

  • Towing capacity: 10,000 lbs

  • Top speed: 110 mph

  • Full battery range: 320 miles

  • Charging speed: 45 minutes

Hummer EV

Once the poster child of gas-guzzling trucks, the Hummer is now rebranding itself in the EV market with a new pickup that released in 2021.

Here are the stats for the Hummer EV:

  • Prices start at: $98,000

  • Towing capacity: 7,500 lbs

  • Top speed: 106 mph

  • Full battery range: 350 miles

  • Charging speed: 42 minutes

Lordstown Endurance

Hailing from Ohio, Lordstown is another American car manufacturer looking to get in on the ground floor of the EV industry. Billed as a true work truck the Endurance fits the mold of a classic pickup.

Here are the stats for the Lordstown Endurance :

  • Price: approximately $65,000

  • Towing capacity: 8,000 lbs

  • Top speed: 118 mph

  • Full battery range: 250 miles

  • Charging speed: N/A
