Panera is finally taking action regarding its Charged Lemonades.

The café is reportedly set to remove the beverage from its menu offerings, following several months of controversy surrounding the amount of caffeine they contain.

According to Panera's website, a regular size of the "naturally flavored and plant based Charged Sips" contains 260 milligrams of caffeine, while a large has 390 milligrams—“as much caffeine as our Dark Roast coffee,” the product description states.

An additional precaution reads: "NOT RECOMMENDED FOR children, people sensitive to caffeine, pregnant or nursing women."

The chain addressed its "recent menu transformation" in a statement. “We listened to more than 30,000 guests about what they wanted from Panera, and are focusing next on the broad array of beverages we know our guests desire – ranging from exciting, on-trend flavors, to low sugar and low-caffeine options,” it read, per People.

The discontinuation of the Charged Lemonades comes after it was previously determined that consumption of the beverages could be dangerous. Multiple reported deaths in connection with drinking the flavored lemonades resulted in several lawsuits for the fast food eatery, but even with the risks, fans on social media are rioting over the news that the beverages will no longer be offered.

"Just found out they’re discontinuing the panera charged lemonade i am not okay," one wrote, as another agreed, "Tragic news. My private source from inside Panera Bread just told me they're getting rid of the Charged Lemonade."

"Never going to stop mourning panera charged lemonade," a third admitted.

Meanwhile, someone else jokingly paid tribute with, "Thank you for all the late work I’ve completed in those long nights , I hope you raise your head high while you soar in the sky’s , I love you Panera Charged lemonade."

An additional X user called the upcoming changes the "END OF AN ERA."

On the other hand, one particular social media user took issue, instead, with consumers, pointing out, "Panera is getting rid of the charged lemonade because yall are irresponsible and can’t read."

As for the supposed menu transformation, fans of the brand will have to stay tuned for what's to come in place of the discontinued beverages.
