Cumberland's Kibiwott earns first team all-conference honors

Nov. 8—BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Cumberland's women finished fifth at the Mid-South Conference Championships at Phil Moore Park last Friday.

The University of the Cumberlands took home the conference title finishing with a score of 27 as all five of its counted scores finished in the top 10. Freed-Hardeman checked in at second place with 98 points.

Bethel and Lindsey each finished with 101 points and Cumberland took fifth with 106 points.

Mercy Kibiwott earned first team all-conference honors as she finished in fourth place with a time of 22:06.8.

The top 7 earned first-team honors and the next seven finishers earned second-team honors. Kibiwott qualified for the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Wash., on Nov. 17.

Daniela Rivera was CU's second-highest finisher, one place shy of second team all-conference honors, in 15th place with a time of 23:33.2.

Sarah Wilkerson crossed the finish line in 24:14to finish in 27th place.

Elise Krone finished in 31st place with a time of 24:31.7 followed by Sami Parker in 41st at 25:00.8. Lilah Mohler and Jenna Towles finished in 48th and 49th with times of 25:43.2 and 25:45.7.

Alina Boshchuk won the race with a time of 20:56.3 to earn Mid-South Conference Runner of the Year and Freshman of the Year.
