Crunchyroll Reveals 40 New Anime Coming In January

Crunchyroll has revealed its full slate of Winter 2024 anime season releases, with over 40 new, returning, and continuing series coming to the anime streaming service throughout January. Anime typically releases seasonally, with new releases starting every 2-3 months, and early 2024 is looking like it’s going to be huge for anime on Crunchyroll.

The headliner is, of course, One Piece’s Egghead Island arc, which had its start date revealed a couple weeks ago and is set to start airing on January 6 in the US, or January 7 in Japan. The new story arc will see the Straw Hat crew headed to the futuristic Egghead Island, home of the enigmatic scientist Dr. Vegapunk — creator of the Pacifista and artificial Devil Fruit.

Other high-profile releases include the debut of Metallic Rouge, a new mecha series from Fullmetal Alchemist and Mob Psycho 100 studio Bones, as well as Bucchigiri?!, from Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man studio MAPPA.

Another one to watch out for – because we think it’s going to be absolutely huge – is Solo Leveling, an adaptation of a South Korean web novel being developed by A-1 Pictures, one of the powerhouses of the anime industry, responsible for Sword Art Online, Black Butler, Fairy Tail, and so much more.
