Crunchyroll Game Vault Adds Two New Games

Crunchyroll Yuppie Psycho

Crunchyroll subscribers can play two new games coming to the Crunchyroll Game Vault. Members of the Crunchyroll Premium tier can now play Ponpu and Yuppie Psycho with both games available to play on both Android and iOS devices. The subscription service is also set to get a Developer Portal that will let game creators directly engage with the publishing teams at Crunchyroll.

Ponpu is a fast-paced 2D puzzle game making its mobile debut exclusively through Crunchyroll Game Vault. The action-platformer includes a single-player campaign alongside many 4-player multiplayer modes. Ponpu will have touch-screen controls but will also support connectivity with game controllers. While the addition of Ponpu is great news for existing subscribers, they may need to temper expectations as Steam reviews for the game are currently mixed.

Yuppie Psycho is also debuting on mobile exclusively through Crunchyroll, with the exploration/puzzle game getting new touch controls. Yuppie Psycho follows Brian Pasternack, a young man in a dystopian 90s society on his first workday at Sintracorp. What follows is a spooky adventure where Pasternack will have to go hunting for a 'witch' who has been haunting Sintracorp’s employees. Don’t let the bubbly pixel art fool you though — Yuppie Psycho is a psychological horror game. The game includes branching narratives, so players will have to make their choices count. Players will have to familiarize themselves with their workspace, dig up dirt on their co-workers, solve riddles and manipulate the environment to reveal hidden paths.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Developer Portal will let game creators submit their in-progress projects for consideration to be added to the Game Vault.

“Crunchyroll Game Vault’s latest titles, coupled with the upcoming One Punch Man: World launch on January 31, mark the beginning of a tremendous year for gaming at Crunchyroll," said Terry Li, Executive Vice President of Emerging Business and General Manager of Crunchyroll Games at Crunchyroll, "Throughout 2024, we will work with developers to bring more games to mobile for the first time and bring new features to existing hits. Our Developer Portal is another step in our commitment to working with developers eager to bring games to Crunchyroll’s fans.”

Crunchyroll’s Game Vault is a recent benefit that offers subscribers a variety of anime-inspired mobile games. Notable games include Street Fighter Duel, My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero and the upcoming One Punch Man: World. It also includes premium games such as River City Girls, Behind the Frame and inbento.
