How crowded was the Kentucky Derby? Here's how many were at the track

Nearly 157,000 people were at Churchill Downs on Saturday to witness the photo-finish winning run by Mystik Dan at the 150th Kentucky Derby.

The attendance is the highest it's been since 157,813 people bought tickets to the Derby in 2018. But it's still down from the record 170,513 visitors in 2015.

Attendance at the 2024 Kentucky Oaks on Friday was 107,236, up slightly over last year's crowd of 106,381.

Here's how Derby attendance has fared in recent years:

2024 — 156,710

2023 — 150,335

2022 — 147,294

2021 — 51,838*

2019 — 150,729

2018 — 157,813
