'Criminal Minds: Evolution' Fans Are Baffled After Seeing New Cast Photo Ahead of Season 2

Criminal Minds: Evolution is back! More than a year after the series was officially renewed by Paramount+, the members of the BAU are on set filming new episodes. But one behind-the-scenes photo has fans up in arms.

The show's official Instagram account shared a photo of longtime stars of the show: Kirsten Vangsness (Penelope Garcia), Aisha Tyler (Dr. Tara Lewis), Adam Rodriguez (Luke Alvez), A.J. Cook (Jennifer Jareau), and Joe Mantegna (David Rossi). The photo is captioned, simply, "famILY 🫶 #CriminalMinds."

Fans flooded the page with hundreds of comments, many of them demanding for answers to one question: Where is Paget Brewster, a.k.a Emily Prentiss?

Paramount+ has not released any details about the season 2 plot or cast, but we don't think there is reason to be concerned about Paget's involvement. The Criminal Minds account included a photo of Paget's director's chair in a post about filming new episodes, and Paget herself mentioned on January 15 that she was about to start filming season 2.

Of course, a whole legion of fans also commented about Matthew Gray Gubler's involvement, but there has been no news about whether he will reprise his role as Spencer Reid.

We don't have an official release date for the season either, but, for now, we're just happy to see (almost) everyone back on set.
