Temperatures Friday could make it harder to battle the fires, with the heat index in the Dallas-Fort Worth area reaching 105. The National Weather Service in Fort Worth is warning that conditions are conducive to wildfires.
To prevent wildfires, do not toss lit cigarettes on the ground, drag tow chains on the ground, park or drive over tall grass, leave a campfire unattended or burn anything unnecessarily. Be ready to act if there are any fires near you and call 911 if you smell smoke or see fire.
