Cowboys Fans React To What Deion Said About Coaching Team

Former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton isn’t the only big name being floated as the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Former NFL star cornerback Deion Sanders is being mentioned, too.

In fact, that’s who former NBA star and Cowboys fan Shaquille O’Neal wants to see coaching the team.

“I’m putting this out right now,” O’Neal said on The Big Podcast With Shaq. “Deion Sanders is the next head coach for the Cowboys. Jerry Jones, this message is from Shaquille O’Neal Incorporated, Deion Sanders for the next coach of Cowboys.”

However, don’t count on it happening.

Sanders, the head coach at Jackson State, admitted that he doesn’t see himself coaching an NFL franchise.

“I would be too tough as a coach in the NFL because I still have those old-school attributes,” Sanders told Cowboy Maven.

Sanders added that he has no desire to become an NFL head coach.

“I don’t have any desire or ambition to coach in the NFL,” Sanders told Bri Amaranthus in an exclusive visit with CowboysSI.com. “I have a problem with men getting their checks and not doing their jobs. I would be too tough as a coach in the NFL because I still have those old-school attributes.”

Some Cowboys fans are disappointed.

“But those are the very things we need back not just in Dallas but the whole NFL , football is football, The first team to start doing things the old school way will dominate. That’s what that guy in New England been doing and all he has been doing for a long time is Dominating!!!” one fan tweeted.

“Jerry would not allow him to be tough,” another fan predicted.

“He’s the coach we need,” another fan added.

The Cowboys are rolling with Mike McCarthy as head coach in 2022, but if they fail to make a deep postseason run, a change is possible.

Just don’t count on Deion Sanders wanting the job.
