Need a COVID-19 test Christmas weekend in the Miami area? Here’s your list

Are you looking for a COVID-19 test in South Florida during Christmas weekend?

Maybe you need one to fly. Perhaps you want to get tested before or after gathering with family. You feel sick.

Whatever the reason, you’ll still be able to find a test in South Florida, but your choices will be limited this weekend.

While testing will be available around the clock at Miami International Airport, other test sites in Miami-Dade will be closing early Saturday (Christmas Eve) and remain closed on Christmas Day. Some sites will also close early Monday. In Broward, the three COVID-19 test sites that are operated by the county’s health department will be closed Friday through Monday. The sites will reopen Tuesday.

Here’s your holiday testing guide:

COVID-19 testing in Miami-Dade County

One of the easiest ways to find a COVID-19 test site near you and its hours of operations in Miami-Dade County is to use the county’s online locator. Here’s a look at the holiday weekend schedule. To see the hours of operations for next week, visit the locator.

Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW First St., in Miami. Open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Closed Dec. 24 - Dec. 26. Worth noting this site will also be closed Dec. 31 - Jan. 2.

Joseph Caleb Center, 5400 NW 22nd Ave, in Miami. Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Closed Dec. 24 - Dec. 26. Worth noting this site will also be closed Dec. 31 - Jan. 2.

Miami Beach 17th Street Garage, 530 17th St. Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 24. and closed on Christmas Day. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26.

Miami Dade College North Campus, 11380 NW 27 Ave.. Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Closed Christmas Day. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26.

Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St. The site is open around the clock on Thursday and Friday. The site will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and remain closed on Christmas Day. On Dec. 26, it will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Zoo Miami, 12400 SW 152 St. Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Closed Christmas Day. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26.

Miami Beach 84th Street Parking, 8440 Collins Ave. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday. This site is not open on the weekend. It will also be closed Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

Kendale Lakes Branch Library, 15205 SW 88th St. Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. This site is closed on the weekend. It will also be closed Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

I-75 Park and Ride Lot, Ronald Reagan Turnpike. Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Closed Dec. 24-Dec. 26 and Dec. 31-Jan. 2.

Country Club of Miami, 6801 NW 186th St. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Closed Dec. 24-Dec. 26 and Dec. 31- Jan. 2.

Hialeah Gardens Branch Library, 13451 NW 107th Ave. Open 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. This site is closed on the weekend. It will also be closed Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

Aventura Mall, 19575 Biscayne Blvd. Site is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day. The site will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26.

Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, 18070 Collins Ave. Site is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. This site is closed on weekends. The site will also be closed Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

What about at MIA and FLL airports?

COVID-19 testing is still available at Miami International Airport. Tests at the airport cost $79 to $179. If you’re flying to or from MIA, you can visit two test sites.

One of the sites is on the ground level of Concourse E, in front of Door 11. The site, which is open around the clock, has antigen and rapid PCR tests. Antigen results are available within 15 minutes and PCR test results are available within 40 minutes. For testing costs or to pre-register, visit the Family Rehab, Inc. website or call 305-869-1161.

MIA has another test site near the TSA Checkpoint in Concourse H on the departure level at Door 20. This test site is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and offers Antigen, PCR and Rapid PCR tests. You can schedule an appointment, but it’s not required.

PCR test results are available within 24 hours, Rapid PCR test results are available within one hour and Antigen test results are available within 15 minutes. For testing costs or to pre-register, visit the Nomi Health website or call 305-280-0694; toll free at 833-685-0700.

If you’re flying in and out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, you’ll need to look elsewhere for a COVID-19 test. FLL’s test site closed Dec. 3.

Where else can you get a COVID-19 test?

Low and no-cost COVID-19 tests are also generally available at other locations, including CVS, Walgreens, community health centers, private health companies and urgent care centers. However, keep in mind that some locations may be closed or operating on reduced hours for the holidays. Another option is to take an at-home COVID test.
