Johnson County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the deaths of a husband and wife found shot in their Joshua home on Thursday.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as Richard Scarlett, 66, and Kay Scarlett, 68. Both died from multiple shotgun wounds and their deaths have been ruled homicides.

The couple were found in their home at 1700 Don Lee Road and were pronounced dead shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday.

The Cleburne Times-Review reported Friday that investigators were searching for a relative of the couple whom Sheriff Adam King described as a person of interest. Investigators believe the relative left in the couple’s truck, which was later found in the parking lot of Texas Health Huguley Hospital in Fort Worth, King told the Times-Review.
