County engineer's office continues with road construction despite the rainy spring weather

LANCASTER − The weather has not been cooperating much for Fairfield County Engineer Jeremiah Upp's office's road construction schedule with the all the rain the area has received this spring.

But the county will try again and announced the following closures for construction:

  • The county will close Winchester Southern Road (Fairfield 2) Monday to remove and replace an existing culvert, weather permitting. The closure will be on Winchester Southern Road between Heigle Road and Main Street. Construction will be between 9225 and 9130 Winchester Southern Road.   • The county will close Amanda Southern Road SW (Fairfield 14) Wednesday through Thursday for bridge deck repairs, weather permitting. The closure will be on Amanda Southern Road SW between Bowers Road SW and Bowman Road SW. Construction will be between 7979 and 7765 Amanda Southern Road SW.   • The county will close Heigle Road SW (Township 128) Tuesday to remove and replace an existing culvert, weather permitting. The closure will be on Heigle Road between Winchester Southern Road SW and Dozer Road.   • The county will close Winchester Southern Road SW (Fairfield 2) Tuesday to remove and replace an existing culvert, weather permitting. The closure will be on Winchester Southern Road SW at the intersection of Heigle Road and Winchester Southern Road SW. Construction will be between the intersection of Heigle Road and Winchester Southern Road SW and 9985 Winchester Southern Road SW.
