Country Stars Stole the Show at This Year's Hangout Music Festival

It Was the Year of Country for Hangout Music Fest Alive Coverage

Hangout Music Festival is not the first festival to come to mind when you think of country music, but this year's lineup was a pleasant surprise for country music fans! The festival, held right on the beach in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama, boasted an impressive lineup of country artists from headliner Zach Bryan, to freshly crowned New Female Artist of the Year Megan Moroney, to country rocker Koe Wetzel. Country fans got even more than they bargained for this year with a special appearance from Jelly Roll.

The festival's variety left room for exciting cross-genre collaborations from artists like Megan Moroney and Lana Del Ray. If you missed this weekend in country paradise, here's your up close and personal look at all of the country music stars at Hangout Music Festival May 17-19!

After a long weekend spent catching our own Gulf fish for dinner, lounging by the pool at Beachball properties, walking along Gulf Shore's white sand beaches, and listening to our favorite artists perform, we're sold on Hangout Music Festival and the small beach town of Gulf Shore! Get to Know the Headliners:

Megan Moroney

Fresh off of her New Artist of the Year win at the ACM Awards, Megan Moroney was greeted by an eager crowd at Hangout Music Festival.

She played hits including "No Caller ID" and "Sleep on My Side." At the end of her set she brought out Friday's headliner Lana Del Rey for a duet of her song "Tennessee Orange."

Zach Bryan

As the final act of the three-day festival, Zach Bryan's set drew the largest crowd of the weekend. He belted out hits including "Hey Driver," "Revival," and a rendition of "Oklahoma Smokeshow," where he changed "Oklahoma" to "Alabama." With the large number of attendees and the Alabama heat, Zach had to stop his performance multiple times to send medical assistance into the crowds and check on fans.

Jessie Murph

Alabama native Jessie Murph is just 19-years-old and already making a name for herself in country music. Her popularity rose on platforms including TikTok and Youtube before signing with Columbia records.

Murph brought out another aspiring artist with a following on TikTok, Maddox Batson, during her set.

Koe Wetzel

Fans flocked to Hangout's Shoreline stage to catch Koe Wetzel live on Saturday night.

"This is my first time at Hangout Fest, but I love Gulf Shores. We've played here a couple times before, it's always rowdy," Wetzel said pre-show.

Jelly Roll

Jelly Roll made a surprise appearance during Lana Del Rey's Friday night set for a crowd-pleasing duet of "Sweet Home Alabama." Jelly Roll was one of four special guests during Lana's set, and the only country star.

Wyatt Flores

Wyatt Flores is a relative newbie in the country music game. His electrifying set at Hangout Fest, definitely won over the hearts of some new fans. "Hangout y'all were insane," he posted after his performance.

Dasha

Dasha showing off her dance moves, which popularized her hit song "Austin." Dasha invited fans of the line dance to join her on stage during her set.

"It was just wild seeing how many people knew the words to my songs from the album outside of 'Austin,' and seeing how excited people were to be there, it really meant so much," Dasha told Country Living of her first festival experience.

Tanner Adell

Tanner Adell is a new country artist who recently appeared on Beyonce's country album Cowboy Carter. The Kentucky native drew a crowd at Hangout Fest sporting festive ribbons.

Lana may not be traditionally country, but this year she is releasing her first country album, Lasso. Lana stuck around Gulf Shores, performing "Tennessee Orange" with Megan Moroney on Sunday.
