Costco's Brand New Food Court Treat Has Shoppers Racing to Grab It

Those who are familiar with Costco’s food court generally understand the lore behind the beloved bulk warehouse's eatery. Coveted menu items have come and gone and new additions have struggled to live up to the reputation of the greats from the past. But despite missing the mark from time to time on menu items and the occasional rise in prices, other reliable selections such as the infamous $1.50 hot dog combo have stood the test of time.

Another menu option that has always garnered a great deal of positive attention from Costco’s food court patrons is the always delicious soft serve ice cream. In the past, customers could choose between vanilla and strawberry soft serve before adding their pick of chocolate or strawberry sauce on top. But now, thanks to some sleuthing done by dedicated fans, we now know that Costco has adjusted the soft serve selection to include chocolate.

Those who loved Costco's strawberry soft serve may be a bit disappointed in the recent food court news, as the new chocolate offering has seemingly replaced the longtime beloved menu option. As reported in a post shared to Instagram by Meg and Maddie, the new chocolate soft serve tastes “like a custard from Culver’s, like the creaminess of it.”

Meg goes on to explain how sometimes Culver’s chocolate can “not be right.” She then solidly concluded that “this is right,” while taking another bite of her Costco soft serve.

If you’re one of the people who is rightfully devastated by the removal of the strawberry soft serve offering, you can at least take comfort in the fact that the strawberry topping is still available. And while a chocolate and strawberry twist would be delicious, at least we can still get our strawberry fix in one way or another.

The new soft serve flavor does not come with a price increase, so the $1.99 ice cream cup and $2.49 ice cream sundae are still very much a reliable option on these upcoming hot summer days. Get your fix now and head over to your locale while the hype is still hot.
