Corrie's Ellie Leach reunites with co-stars for new reality show

Coronation Street star Ellie Leach is set to reunite with her former soap co-stars for new reality show Drama Queens.

The Daily Star reports that the actress, who played Faye Windass on the show until her exit in May 2023, will be joined by her former co-star and real life cousin Brooke Vincent, who played Sophie Webster, as well as Lucy Fallon, who recently returned to the show as Bethany Platt.

Drama Queens, which was announced earlier this month, will give fans a look into the real lives of several popular soap stars, as they juggle their busy filming schedules with photo shoots, award ceremonies and their family lives.

The three Corrie stars will be joined by Emmerdale's Amy Walsh (Tracy Robinson), Laura Norton (Kerry Wyatt) and Roxy Shahidi (Leyla Harding), as well as Hollyoaks' Jorgie Porter (Theresa McQueen) and Jamelia (Sharon Bailey).

Leach, who was last month crowned the latest winner of Strictly Come Dancing alongside her professional partner Vito Coppola, said of the new reality show: "I'm so excited about Drama Queens.

"People are so used to seeing me play the character Faye Windass and I'm just so excited for everyone to see who I am and what goes on in my day-to-day life as just Ellie."

Vincent said that she is "excited to show the authentic side of having small children whilst trying to navigate my way back into the acting world", while Fallon revealed that she is "excited for viewers to see a real 'behind the scenes' of my chaotic life as an actress and a first-time mum'."

Walsh said that she feels "it's time to show people who I am in other areas of my life and how chaotic that can be at times".

Norton added that she is keen to "show the importance of the friendships of my soap family, and how we support each other through the juggle of our lives on Emmerdale with the challenges of everyday life".

Shahidi joked: "Who wouldn't want to make a show with their besties… It's a brave and original concept. I think it might feel like Sex and the City but with less budget and more rain."

Jamelia teased that "chaos is inevitable", while Porter said that she can't wait for viewers to get to know the real her.

The show's eight 60-minute episodes will air on ITVX and ITVBe in the spring, with filming underway now.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
