Coronation Street's Andy Whyment shares tribute to late co-star
Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment has shared a tribute to Bernard Hill after working with the late star as a child in his first credited role.
Hill, who starred in films including Titanic and Lord of the Rings, passed away over the weekend aged 79, with many people sharing their tributes.
Among them is Whyment, who posted a childhood picture alongside Hill from when they appeared in Once Upon a Time in the North in 1994, the actor revealing that he got his first-ever speaking part as the son of Hill's character.

"My first major speaking part was on a show called Once Upon a Time in the North, it was a 6 part series and Bernard Hill played my dad, sad to hear of his passing today RIP Bernard," Whyment wrote on Instagram.
The actor went on to land the part of Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street in 2000, and before that played Darren Sinclair-Jones in The Royle Family.
Following the news of Hill's death, many of his Lord of the Rings co-stars shared tributes to him at a Comic Con Liverpool event, which took place as the King Théoden actor's passing was announced.
"We just want to take a moment, before we walk off this stage, to honour him," Samwise Gamgee actor Sean Astin said. "He was supposed to be here. He was supposed to be here today and yesterday.

"So, we love him. He was intrepid, he was funny, he was gruff, he was irascible. He was beautiful," he added.
Pippin Took star Billy Boyd added: "We were watching it actually, I think. And we were talking about the movies, and I said to Dom [Monaghan], I don't think anyone spoke [LOTR author, J R R] Tolkien's words as great as Bernard did. I think the way he just – he grounded those words in their realism.
"He would break my heart when I saw him on the screen. He was a wonderful man and he'll be sorely missed."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
