WORCESTER — It's not summer, but it's swimming weather.

Temperatures for Saturday and Sunday will be near 80, with a high of about 70 on Monday, Memorial Day, according to the National Weather Service.

Quinsigamond State Park, with beaches at Regatta Point and Lake Park, will be open for swimming starting this weekend, according to the state Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Public pools run by the city and the state are still weeks away from opening.

Spray parks, pools and beaches operated by the City of Worcester are due to open July 1. This includes spray parks at Cristoforo Colombo/East Park on Shrewsbury Street and Greenwood Spray Park on Forsberg Street. Also run by the city are the Crompton Park Pool and beaches at Bell Pond, Indian Lake, Coes Pond and Shore Park.

Other places to cool off in Worcester are overseen by the state Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The Bennett Field Pool and the Dennis F. Shine Memorial Pool are slated to open for the season on June 22. They will be open from 11:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. each day through Aug. 18.

The Regatta Point beach will have lifeguards starting Sunday. (On Saturday, the beach will be used for a regatta competition.) Lake Park will be staffed by lifeguards starting later in June. On Saturday, however, the Regatta Point lifeguards will shift to Lake Park.
