Connie Britton Addresses Emmys Absence, Shares Photo of Planned Red Carpet Look

Connie Britton — who was conspicuously missing from the American Horror Story reunion at Monday’s Emmy Awards, thereby forcing co-star Dylan McDermott to go it alone — is confirming that Mother Nature was behind her 11th hour vanishing act.

“Because of a snowstorm in [New York], I had to hop the next plane in order to make it to work on time the next day,” Britton explained Thursday in a cheekily worded open letter to McDermott and Emmys vignette sidekick Rubber Man on Instagram.

“Even though I was impregnated with the antichrist by at least one, if not both of you,” Britton wrote, “I was truly looking forward to seeing you on that grand Emmy stage and reminiscing about those good old spooky days.”

The five-time Emmy nominated actress shared “Emmy pictures” of the gown she had intended to wear at the 75th annual ceremony, before joking, “I was definitely the most decked out person on my cross country flight that evening!”

In the comments beneath Britton’s post, McDermott gushed, “You look gorgeous,” before adding, “Rubber Man sends his best!”

As we reported Tuesday, Britton was headed to the Big Apple to begin shooting her new Robert De Niro-led Netflix thriller Zero Day.
