‘The Conners’ Renewed for Seventh and Final Season at ABC, ‘Not Dead Yet’ Canceled
“The Conners” has been renewed for Season 7 at ABC, which will also be the show’s last. In addition, ABC has canceled “Not Dead Yet” after two seasons.
The final season of “The Conners” will reportedly be shorter than past seasons, with sources saying it will run for just six episodes. ABC declined to comment on the length of the season.

“The Conners” originally debuted on ABC in 2018. It began as a revival of “Roseanne,” but following Roseanne Barr’s tweets about former Obama administration aide Valerie Jarrett, the revival was canceled. Not long after, it was announced the show would continue as “The Conners” without Barr, with her character being killed off in “The Conners” premiere episode.
The series stars John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, and Jay R. Ferguson. Tom Werner serves as executive producer along with Gilbert, Bruce Helford, Dave Caplan, Bruce Rasmussen and Tony Hernandez. The series is produced by Werner Entertainment.
“Not Dead Yet” aired its Season 2 finale on April 24, with that now serving as the series finale. The show is adapted from the book “Confessions of a 40-something F**k Up” by Alexandra Potter. Gina Rodriguez stars in the series as Nell Serrano, an obituary writer at a local newspaper. “The twist – she can see the dead people she’s tasked with writing about, and they don’t hesitate to give her life advice,” per the official logline.
The cast also includes Hannah Simone, Lauren Ash, Rick Glassman, Joshua Banday, Angela Gibbs. Casey Johnson and David Windsor created the series and served as executive producers. Rodriguez executive produced in addition to starring. Dean Holland and Wonderland Sound and Vision’s McG, Mary
Viola and Corey Marsh also executive produced. 20th Television was the studio.
With the two comedies now coming off of ABC’s schedule, the network’s only other comedy series at present is “Abbott Elementary,” which was previously renewed for a fourth season. ABC has two comedy pilots in the works, though. One is “Shifting Gears” starring Tim Allen and Kat Dennings, while the other is “Forgive and Forget” starring Ty Burrell. Neither has been filmed as of yet, so no decision is expected on either for the time being.
