What’s coming to Broadway on DPAC next year? Here’s the latest show, ticket details.

The bright lights of Broadway will spotlight legendary hits, a pop superstar and trend-setting singers and songwriters later this year when the Truist Broadway 2023-24 season opens in Durham.

The seven-show lineup will feature fan favorites “Mamma Mia!” and “The Lion King,” as well as last year’s four-time Tony Award-winning jukebox musical, “MJ The Musical,” according to a news release from Durham Performing Arts Center operator Nederlander.

Here’s this season’s full lineup of scheduled dates:

“MJ The Musical”: Oct. 10-22. New from Broadway, “MJ The Musical” chronicles the making of pop icon Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour, which grossed over $100 million and captured the peak of Jackson’s creative spirit before his life spiraled into allegations of painkiller addiction and sexual abuse.

“Funny Girl”: Nov. 7-12. The revival of a classic musical that debuted in 1964, “Funny Girl” is the comedic tale of Fanny Brice, a girl from New York’s Lower East Side who dreams of a life on stage. Based on the updated book from Harvey Fierstein, it features several iconic hits by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill, including “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” and “People.”
