Comcast’s Xfinity internet service adds faster internet speeds in Washington

Xfinity is boosting over 1.3 million Washington residents’ Wi-Fi this month, according to a news release from Xfinity.

Beginning the week of Oct. 18, Xfinity’s new and existing customers will be able to have upgraded speeds, depending on their current plans:

Performance Starter/Connect plans will increase from 50 Mbps to 75 Mbps.

Performance/Connect More plans will increase from 100 Mbps to 200 Mbps.

Performance Pro/Fast plans will increase from 300 Mbps to 400 Mbps.

Blast/Superfast plans will increase from 600 Mbps to 800 Mbps.

Extreme Pro/Gigabit (formerly Ultrafast) plans will increase from 900 Mbps to 1 Gbps.

Twenty million Xfinity customers across the country will be upgraded to these new internet speeds, according to an Xfinity news release.

Comcast has over 1.7 million residential and business customers in Washington state and has nearly 90,000 public Wi-Fi hotspots for customers across the state, according to Andy Colley, Comcast’s Washington external communications director.

The Xfinity internet service continues to use Comcast’s existing network architecture and the connections that are already in customers’ homes as the company strives to upgrade its network to 10G.

Comcast is also working to launch multi-gig deployment that before the end of 2025 will bring 2 Gbps speeds to over 50 million homes and businesses.

The upgrade aims to provide customers with better internet connection and speed for working from home, streaming movies, playing video games and other activities.
