Colts Have Signed Former Notre Dame Quarterback
The Indianapolis Colts added depth to their quarterback room by signing former Notre Dame signal-caller Jack Coan.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the signing Saturday night after Coan went undrafted.
Coan spent four years at Wisconsin, where he recorded 18 passing touchdowns as the starter in 2019. After leading the Badgers to a 10-4 season, he missed all of 2020 with a right foot injury suffered in preseason camp.

The 6’3″, 220-pound passer then transferred to Notre Dame, where he posted 3,150 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 13 starts for the 11-2 Fighting Irish. He left a 41-13 victory over his former school early with an injury.
The Colts hope to have halted a revolving door under center by acquiring Matt Ryan from the Atlanta Falcons. However, their quarterback depth chart is lacking behind the 2016 MVP. Coan can compete with Sam Ehlinger and James Morgan for a roster spot.
Safety Kyle Hamilton and running back Kyren Williams were the only Notre Dame players drafted, but Coan joined four other Fighting Irish to sign as undrafted free agents.
