The Colts are in need of desperate help at the quarterback position following Carson Wentz‘s unexpected injury.

The former Eagles quarterback suffered a foot injury in training camp earlier this week. It’s plausible he could miss as many as three weeks. The Colts, as a result, are now in a world of hurt at the quarterback position.

Indianapolis now has just Jacob Eason and Sam Ehlinger in the quarterback room for training camp. Neither have thrown a pass in the NFL, Eason has been with the team for just a year and Ehlinger has been in the league for all of three months. It’s safe to say Indianapolis needs another quarterback. Luckily, help is on the way.

The Colts have signed veteran quarterback Brett Hundley. Given his experience, there’s a good chance he eclipses both Eason and Ehlinger on the depth chart in the next few weeks.

Brett Hundley, a former star at UCLA, began his professional career back in 2015 with the Green Bay Packers. He spent three years there before he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2018. A year later, he stayed in the NFC West by signing with the Arizona Cardinals.

Hundley has played in 18 and started nine games during his NFL career. He’s completed 59.1 percent of his throws for 1,902 yards and nine touchdowns with 13 interceptions.

Hundley should provide a major boost for the Colts who need as much experienced help at quarterback they can get.
