College of Wooster hosts Al Van Wie/Wooster Rotary Classic this weekend

The College of Wooster’s annual Al Van Wie/Wooster Rotary Classic takes place this Friday and Saturday at Timken Gymnasium and the donation of two canned or boxed food items gets fans half-price admission and supports People to People Ministries food pantry.

Regular admission is $8.00 for adults and $7.00 for senior citizens and youth and Wooster accepts cash and credit card for basketball tickets.

Friday’s action starts with eighth-ranked Hampden-Sydney College playing Widener University at 6 p.m., with Wooster hosting Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at 8 p.m. Friday’s winners play at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Friday’s losers play at 2:15 p.m.

Wooster’s women’s basketball team is also home this weekend, taking on Defiance College at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
