College Football World Reacts To Major Ohio State QB News
In a stunning development that could have major implications in the college football national title race, Ohio State five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers will forgo his senior year of high school and enroll early.
Ewers is the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2022 per 247Sports. Over the past two seasons at Southlake Carroll High School in Texas, he’s completed 70-percent of his passes for 6,445 yards and 73 touchdowns with eight picks and 12 rushing touchdowns.
Ewers initially committed to the Texas Longhorns last year before flipping to Ohio State a few months later. But after taking a few visits to Columbus this summer, it seems Ewers is ready for the college life now.
Needless to say, Ohio State Buckeyes fans are thrilled while the greater college football world is stunned. Some Buckeyes insiders expect that he may not play at all this year. But others think he could cause a quarterback controversy:

Looks like Quinn Ewers will be on the roster in 2021
Doubt he plays this season, but more development time in the program for him won’t hurt https://t.co/2CtsXfa72L

With his .9999 rating by 247Sports, Quinn Ewers is the highest-rated prospect to commit to the Buckeyes since the recruiting metric site was introduced. He narrowly edged out Buckeyes legend Terrelle Pryor for the distinction.
It seems unlikely that Ewers will see significant time out the gate, or during his freshman season.
But with NIL deals now available, Ewers may have his eyes set on earning some advertising revenue while he waits for his chance to play.

If nothing else, the Buckeyes now have one more elite arm to set under center in the event things don’t work out with whoever wins the Day 1 starting job this year.
When will Quinn Ewers play his first game for Ohio State?
