Another day, another college football realignment rumor.

Oklahoma and Texas are officially heading to the SEC. The Sooners and the Longhorns will be joining the conference at some point in the next couple of years. An official arrival date has not been decided, though we’ll be seeing OU and Texas taking on the likes of Alabama, Georgia, LSU, etc. at some point in the 2020s.

A new report suggests that Clemson and Florida State have also expressed interest in joining the conference.

The college football world doesn’t seem to be buying it, though.

While it would be fun to see Clemson and Florida State joining the “super conference,” it seems unlikely that this will happen. And, if the Tigers and Seminoles were truly interested, you would think the SEC would at least consider it.

Many college football fans are joking about where realignment rumors come from.

“you fools, never trust talk radio host rumors about college football message board users with five digits in their name are the only ones I believe know things I do not,” Spencer Hall joked.

Of course, college football realignment rumors are not going away anytime soon.

Florida State’s outgoing president had a telling comment on the state of the college football world at the end of July.

At this point, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if a school that’s not in the Big Ten or SEC attempts to join one of the respective conferences.
