College football on television this weekend (Oct. 7-8)
Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers and Cole Cubelic will be on the call Saturday night when No. 13-ranked Kentucky welcomes South Carolina to Kroger Field for an SEC East football matchup. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
CBS has an SEC doubleheader with Auburn at No. 1-ranked Georgia at 3:30 p.m. The host Bulldogs are 5-0 overall, 2-0 in the SEC. Auburn is 3-2 and 1-1. At 8 p.m. comes the highly anticipated Texas A&M at No. 1 Alabama matchup. The visiting Aggies have been a disappointment at just 3-2 and 1-1 in the league. Bama is 5-0 and 2-0. Best part might be the pregame Nick Saban-Jimbo Fisher handshake.
As for matchups between ranked teams, No. 8 Tennessee is at No. 25 LSU at noon on ESPN. The Vols are off to a fast 4-0 start, including a win over Florida. LSU is 4-1, but it has conference wins over Mississippi State and Auburn.
No. 17 TCU is at No. 19 Kansas at noon. Former UK assistant Sonny Dykes has TCU off to a 4-0 start. Kansas is the biggest surprise in college football at 5-0.
No. 11 Utah is at No. 18 UCLA for a 3:30 p.m. game on Fox. Chip Kelly has the host Bruins at 5-0, including 2-0 in the Pac-12. After an opening-night loss at Florida, Utah has won four straight. The Utes are 2-0 in league play.
