During the first half of this afternoon’s game between Florida State and Syracuse, it was evident that Buddy Boeheim struck Wyatt Wilkes in the chest. And yet, the officials on the floor missed it.

Though the officials allowed Boeheim to play through the entire game, there’s no guarantee he’ll avoid some form of discipline from the ACC.

In fact, the majority of the college basketball world believes Boeheim should be suspended for Thursday’s game against Duke.

Would be surprised at this point if Buddy Boeheim isn’t suspended for tomorrow’s Duke-Syracuse game. You can’t just sock a dude in the stomach without some sorta consequence,” Brendan Marks of The Athletic said.

“Buddy Boeheim should be suspended for the rest of the tournament if Syracuse wins,” one fan said.

Buddy Boeheim should be suspended from the tournament after that display of nonsense,” another fan wrote.

Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim was asked about his son’s actions after the win over Florida State. He doesn’t really think it should be considered a punch.

“I saw the play, the kid pushed him twice, I think it was inadvertent,” Boeheim told reporters. “It wasn’t much of a punch.”

The ACC should make an announcement on Buddy Boeheim fairly soon since tipoff for Thursday’s game is less than 24 hours away.
