Colin Kaepernick Is Trending Due To The Elon Musk News

Elon Musk has been the center of attention this week due to his $44 billion bid to purchase Twitter. The CEO of Tesla claims he purchased the social media platform so he can protect free speech.

“By ‘free speech,’ I simply mean that which matches the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law,” Musk tweeted. “If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.”

Musk’s comments have inspired several people to pose a question about former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

It appears there are some people who believe there’s a double standard when it comes to free speech.

Robert Reich tweeted, “So let me get this straight: conservatives love free speech for Elon Musk, but hate free speech for Colin Kaepernick?”

“Should Musk buy the NFL so he can bring back free speech and Kaepernick won’t be punished,” one person tweeted.

“Colin Kaepernick is trending, because he is a champion of non-violent ‘free speech,’ not Elon Musk,” another person wrote.

Kaepernick has been putting in a lot of work this offseason in hope of receiving a second chance in the NFL. He recently had a throwing session at Michigan.

“Really, getting out here for the exhibition was to show that I can still do it,” said Kaepernick. “It’s one of the questions my agent keeps getting, so we want to make sure we can come out, show everyone I can still play, still throw it.”

Kaepernick hasn’t played in the NFL since 2016.
