Colin Kaepernick may not have taken an NFL snap since 2016, but the former 49ers quarterback is still pushing to come back to a league many feel he never should have been left out of.

In a recent interview with WXYZ Detroit’s Jeanna Trotman, Kaepernick said he “absolutely” believes he could still play at the NFL level. And he told every franchise in the National Football League, “I can help make you a better team. I can help you win games.”

Fans reacted to Kaepernick’s comments on Saturday.

“A lot of love for Coach Harbaugh.”

“Kaepernick was honest, open, and confident in this conversation,” Trotman followed up. “When he got announced for the coin flip, there were *some* boos, but more cheers in Michigan Stadium. After halftime, he was gracious in spending time with fans and players for photos and autographs.”

“Looking good,” a Michigan fan tweeted at Kaepernick.

“Can’t understand why he hasn’t been picked back up even by some obscure team that wants to make headlines with a contrarian decision, for example,” another user tweeted.

“Phenomenal person. Phenomenal man. A lot of love for Coach Harbaugh,” Kaepernick said of his former coach in San Francisco.

“After five seasons away from the NFL Colin Kaepernick understands he would need to start in a backup position but believes he would be able to work his way into a starting role,” noted Niners beat writer Jennifer Lee Chan.

“I can’t wait to hear this man speak on a regular basis,” another fan commented.

“Man I respect his persistence but it’s really a wrap for him unfortunately,” another tweeted of Kaepernick’s potential return.

After nearly six years away from the game, Colin Kaepernick remains confident.
