Cole records 18th double-double; Nell, Theisen lead Winnebago Lutheran girls with 11 points each in blowout win

Here is a look at Monday night's high school sports action, featuring girls and boys basketball.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Winnebago Lutheran 68, Fox Valley Lutheran 35

FOND DU LAC - The Vikings (18-5, 9-4 Flyway) picked up a blowout non-conference win on Senior Night over the Foxes (8-13, 8-9 North Eastern).

WLA once again started out firing on all cylinders as they grabbed the 20-point lead at the half.

The Vikings' offense was balanced, receiving contributions from seven different players led by Abby Cole and Evelyn Davies with eight points each, Lindsey Nell with seven, and the duo of Leah Theisen and Anna Trewin had four each.

WLA's defense was also stellar, forcing the Foxes into double-digit turnovers, and the Vikings sustained their momentum in the second half to coast the rest of the way to victory.

Appropriately, Nell and Theisen - both seniors - led WLA with 11 points apiece. Nell also had three assists and 10 steals for a double-double and Theisen added three steals.

Cole, another senior, recorded her 18th double-double in 23 games with 10 points and 18 rebounds along with two steals.

Evelyn Davies chipped in with eight points and four rebounds, the duo of Addy Suprenand and Jenna Petrowitz had seven points each, and the Vikings' fourth senior, Makenna Kohnke, had six to round out the scoring leaders for WLA.

Suprenand also dished out four assists with a pair of steals and Petrowitz grabbed eight boards for the Vikings.

Fox Valley Lutheran was led by Reese Volhard with eight points and Alaina Krueger added six points.

St. Mary's Springs 41, No. 6 (D-5) Randolph 34

RANDOLPH - The Ledgers (13-10, 6-7 Flyway) upset the No. 6-ranked Rockets (16-6, 13-0 Trailways-West) to pick up a huge non-conference victory.

Gracie Konkol led Springs with 11 points and Grace Coon added eight for the Ledgers.

Mya Moldenhauer led Randolph with an all-around game of 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists, a pair of steals and a block. Maddie Medema chipped in with nine points, five boards, three assists and three steals for the Rockets.

Central Wisconsin Christian 76, Cambria-Friesland 56

CAMBRIA - The Crusaders (12-11, 6-7 Trailways-East) earned a 20-point blowout victory in a Trailways crossover matchup with the Hilltoppers (6-17, 2-11 Trailways-West).

Samantha Braskamp led CWC with 19 points and Taylor Hoffman followed right behind with 18 for the Crusaders.

Omro 67, North Fond du Lac 46

NORTH FOND DU LAC - The Orioles (11-11, 6-7 Flyway) were blown out by the Foxes (14-8, 9-4).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Central Wisconsin Christian 70, Cambria-Friesland 51

CAMBRIA - The Crusaders (11-9, 7-4 Trailways-East) picked up a blowout victory in a Trailways crossover matchup against the Hilltoppers (7-12, 3-8 Trailways-West).

Brock Hoekstra scored a game-high 21 points to lead Central Wisconsin Christian and Ryer Greenfield added 12 points on four 3-pointers for the Crusaders.

Isaac Abel, Brant Bille, and Jaden Oosterhouse all chipped in with nine points each for CWC.

Carter Drews led Cambria-Friesland with 15 in the first half on his way to a team-high 20 points, also draining four 3-pointers for the Hilltoppers.
