Last week, Cole Beasley didn’t hold back when lashing out about the agreement between the NFL and NFL Player’s Association to maintain restrictions on players who haven’t been vaccinated against COVID-19 during the preseason. The Buffalo Bills wide receiver ranted and raved on social media, sparking controversy around the league.

Now that Beasley has gotten what he wanted to say off his chest, he’s decided to go radio silent.

“I said all I needed to say,” Beasley told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, according to Pro Football Talk. “I’m just living a normal life from here on out. I’m not trying to sway anybody in either direction. That’s what I am doing and that’s the end of it.”

Beasley said that he has no regrets about what he said but he still explained the reason why he wants to put the issue to bed.

“I don’t want [to] be any more of a distraction to my team so that’s where I’m leaving it,” Beasley said.

After making such rash comments, it might be difficult for Beasley to move forward with his Bills teammates. He already blasted the NFLPA with last week’s rant, so he’s probably made some other enemies around the league.

“The players association is a joke. Call it something different. It’s not for the players,” Beasley said on Twitter last Thursday. “Everyone gives me the 98 percent of people who are vaccinated don’t get covid again. The odds of me getting in the NFL and playing for 10 years are lower than that and I’m here. … So what are we really talking about? I understand completely why the NFL is doing this. It gives them back the freedom to make the most money as possible again if everyone is vaccinated. But will anyone fight for the players or nah?”

Beasley chose not to get a vaccine, so he’ll be subjected to the league’s more rigid restrictions throughout the offseason, which includes being tested for COVID-19 every day and wearing masks when with the team. During his tirade on social media, he implied that he’d be willing to pay any future fines in order to live how he wants.

If that’s indeed the case, we likely haven’t heard the last from the Bills wide receiver this offseason.
