Cohasset payroll: Who makes the most money
COHASSET – In 2023, seven of the town’s top 10 earners were police officers, according to data from the town.
Acting police Lt. Michael Lopes ranked as the highest-paid public employee in the city making around $239,000 last year.
It is the third year in a row that Lopes has topped the list.
This pay includes overtime. Details are usually paid by companies, not the town.
Last year, 127 town employees made more than $100,000, with 17 of those topping $150,000, according to town salary data. Nine out of the 17 employees who made more than $150,000 were police officers.
Other notable earners in the town’s data included town manager Christopher Senior coming in around $193,000 and Superintendent Patrick Sullivan making $223,000. Teacher and nighttime custodian Allen Lafountain was in the top 10 making $172,000 last year.
Many of the top earners in 2023 saw pay increases over 2022. Senior saw an increase from $184,000 to $193,000. Sullivan's pay went from $199,000 to $223,000 in 2023
In total, the town paid almost $33 million in various types of payments to employees in 2023.
