One more, everyone... one more. That's the amount of seasons left in the Cobra Kai franchise until the dojo closes up.

This is obviously bittersweet news, because while it's exciting to get a brand new season full of riveting fight scenes and other enticing drama, it does mean that this will be the last of it all. If you're at all sad about this, just know you have company with Ree Drummond—who herself is a fan of the Netflix series.

There's a lot to expect from season 6, but the real question is: when can you expect it? Season 6 was confirmed in January 2023, which was over year ago. Thankfully, things seem to be moving along and an official premiere date was finally announced! So, keep reading to find out what you need to know about Cobra Kai season 6 including its release date, cast, plot, and more.

Will there be a 'Cobra Kai' season 6?

Yep! Netflix confirmed the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai with an Instagram post last year. The post was as teaser of the upcoming season, accompanied by a short message. "Let me ask you: Do you have one more fight left in you?," the caption read. "The sixth and final season of COBRA KAI is coming soon to Netflix."

Is there a release date for 'Cobra Kai' season 6?

Yes. In fact, there are multiple!

In a recent social media teaser posted by the show's official Instagram, it was announced that the final season of Cobra Kai would be broken up into multiple parts—with the first one airing on July 18, 2024.

The caption read as follows: "The end of a legacy deserves a grand finale. 15 episodes. A three-part event. It all begins July 18."

In the teaser, it was announced that part 2 of the series would air on November 28. The third part, however, was given a loose "2025" release, but no specific date has been attributed to it yet.

What will 'Cobra Kai' season 6 be about?

Season 5 saw frenemies Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Macchio) working side by side in an effort to defeat Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) once and for all. Thankfully, they succeeded! With the two men finally getting along, there's plenty of room for a new villain. And Hayden has hinted that John Kreese (Martin Kove), another notorious villain in the Cobra Kai universe, could be making a return following his escape from prison.

Netflix and the show's creators have been very active on social media lately, giving fans even more hints at the plot. For one, showrunner Jon Hurwitz posted some exciting information on X (formerly known as Twitter) in early February.

"Cuts for the first couple eps of season 6 have been rolling in," Jon posted. "I've missed this. Just watched one of the most crowd pleasing fights of the series. A fresh new team up. You're all gonna go nuts. I can't stop smiling. #CobraKai #Netflix."

Jon also shared a behind-the-scenes photo of the cast on set, and oh, is it something. It shows both Danny LaRusso's and Johnny Lawrence's team of students standing in unison. It seems like they really are combing forces for the sake of the greater good.

Who will be in the 'Cobra Kai' season 6 cast?

Based on the recent teaser, most of the show favorites are expected to return! That includes the adults (Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Courtney Henggeler, Vanessa Rubio, and Martin Kove) and the kids (Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Peyton List, and Jacob Bertrand). It doesn't seem like the show is done with Kenny's story, which means that Dallas Dupree Young is likely to return. Sean Kanan, who plays Mike Barnes, and has made a few cameo appearances in season 5, took to social media to share his interest in season 6.

Is 'Cobra Kai' ending?

Unfortunately, this is true. Soon after confirming there will be a season 6, Cobra Kai released an official statement declaring it to be the final season:

"Our day one goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the valley in the time and place we've always imagined. So it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement. The upcoming Season Six will mark the conclusion of Cobra Kai."

But, that doesn't necessarily mean this is the end of the story!

There is currently another Karate Kid movie underway, and it's said to include familiar faces (like Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso). The story in itself is still developing, but that may be how Cobra Kai fans can feel some sort of peace about this all!
