A coastal flood advisory is in effect for Horry County Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory is from 7 to 11 p.m., said meteorologists in Wilmington, N.C.

Low-lying areas near the Intracoastal Waterway and causeways around beaches are expected to experience minor flooding later Saturday. Forecasters predict the area will see about 1 to 3 inches of rain over the weekend.

Some areas may experience heavy rain through Sunday, which could lead to minor flooding, NWS reported.

Rip currents are still expected for Myrtle Beach area throughout the weekend.

Hurricane Earl is causing swells, which are affecting Bermuda and portions of the U.S. East Coast, potentially creating life-threatening surf and rip current, according to the National Hurricane Center.

If caught in a rip tide, swim parallel to the shore.
