Coach O At Notre Dame Tuesday: College Football World Reacts
Notre Dame had a surprise guest at practice on Tuesday.
Former LSU head coach Ed Orgeron decided to stop by and take in a practice during the morning.
What’s former LSU head coach Ed Orgeron doing at Notre Dame football practice? Wrong answers only.. pic.twitter.com/lJ98N32Ssb

Orgeron looks poised to take the year off from coaching as he tries and resets. He was let go from LSU at the end of last season even though he just led the program to a National Championship in 2019.
It is quite clever that Orgeron took in a practice at South Bend after LSU hired Brian Kelly away from Notre Dame towards the end of 2021. The Fighting Irish then promoted Marcus Freeman to head coach after Kelly left.
It didn’t take long for the college football world to react to this amazing sight.

So the coach who was fired is observing the former school of the coach he was fired for and observing the coach who he tried to hire but who instead went to the coach he was fired for. and then the coach he was fired for tried to hire that coach too but he got promoted instead. https://t.co/URfWSk2nFp

Sort of an interesting development.
Could he be interviewing for an analyst position at Notre Dame or is he just here to speak/visit with Freeman? https://t.co/8kZGXFzMuF

Orgeron coached LSU for six years and finished with a 51-20 overall record (31-17 in SEC play).
After the Tigers went 15-0 in 2019, they went just 11-11 in their next two seasons, which led to Coach O getting dismissed.
