Coach K Broke A Major NCAA Tournament Record Tonight

Davidson v Duke
Davidson v Duke

Coach K and the Duke Blue Devils are heading to the Final Four.

No. 2 seed Duke beat the Arkansas Razorbacks 78-69 in the Elite Eight on Saturday night. The Blue Devils are the official West Region champs.

This is the 13th time Coach K has reached the Final Four. That’s a record, folks.

No coach in college basketball history has been the Final Four more than Mike Krzyzewski. UCLA legend John Wooden sits one behind with 12 Final Four appearances.

Coach K is the best in the business, no question about it.

It’s only fitting the Duke men’s head basketball coach is heading to the Final Four in his final season. Believe it or not, he could face a familiar opponent next Saturday.

Duke will play the winner of No. 8 North Carolina vs. No. 15 St. Peter’s. Either would spark fantastic storylines, especially if the Blue Devils get matched up against the Tar Heels.

North Carolina beat Duke in Coach K’s final game at Cameron Indoor. It was an emotional and frankly bizarre scene. There’s no doubt the Blue Devils are salivating about a potential rematch.

Coach K has gone this far. He’s not satisfied just yet, though. Duke will play in the Final Four next weekend with a trip to the title game on the line.
