Clovis High School student Daniels Scholar

Apr. 6—A Clovis High School senior is one of 23 New Mexico high school seniors to be named a Daniels Scholar.

According to a news release from Clovis Municipal Schools, Rebekah Warren was awarded up to $100,000 in college funding toward an undergraduate degree.

Warren is one of CHS's Early College High School students. With that designation she is on track to graduate from Clovis Community College with an Associate of Applied Science — Paralegal and an Associate of General Studies according to the release.

Warren is expected to graduate with honors from both CHS and CCC.

Warren plans to attend Texas Tech University this fall.

The "Daniels Scholar" designation comes from a charitable program established by cable TV pioneer Bill Daniels, known as "the father of cable TV."

When Daniels passed away in March 2000, his estate transferred to the Daniels Fund, making it one of the largest foundations in the Rocky Mountain region according to the release.

Daniels Scholars are recognized for strength of character, a commitment to ethics and outstanding performance.
