Clinic Cat Hilariously Fails Trying to Survive 'A Quiet Place'

Cats aren't as yappy as dogs are — but they sure aren't quiet. We've all been woken up by a yowling cat before, right? The internet is putting a cat's ability to hold it together to the test with a brand new challenge based on the movie A Quiet Place. And it's just too darn funny.

Inspired by the recent release of A Quiet Place: Day One, the challenge is simple: could your cat keep itself quiet to save its life? It's a lot harder than you'd think.

The challenge is simple: if you had to run with your cat in your arms, could they be quiet to avoid being detected? There's so much that go wrong, but the results are usually pretty hilarious.

One woman recently attempted the challenge with her office's "clinic cat" Figaro. And let's just say the orange cat better hope that the world of A Quiet Place never comes to be.

Pretty much the instant the woman took off running in the clip, Figaro made the loudest, most hilarious whines. It was even funnier when the woman ran back across the screen. Come on, Figaro! You gotta try!

People in the comments section had to agree: Figaro was toast. "That's a cat shaped giggle stick 'AAAAAAEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUU,'" joked one person. "He sounds like one of those toy stick things I had as a kid where you turn it upside down and it makes the same noise," another commenter agreed. "Let's see if we will survive... Figaro: NaaoOOoOowWW," one person joked. "He's called Figaro so obviously he's an opera tenor," pointed out another commenter.

How to Get Your Cat to Stop Meowing

For Figaro's sake, we're pretty lucky that the events of the movie are never going to happen. But you know what does happen IRL? Meowing. Sometimes too much meowing. And when it happens at night it can be a real pain.

To get your cat to keep quiet through the night, you'll want to try and focus on positive reinforcement. Reward your cat for sitting quietly by only giving them a treat when they aren't meowing. If they start to meow, take the treat away. You can also tackle each skill separately, so first train your cat to sit and then train them to do so quietly, if need be.

You can also use a clicker to help train your cat. Make a click after a series of meows and give your cat a treat to help them realize they are getting rewarded for not making noise. This process might take a little time, but eventually your cat will get the message.

Of course, cats don't need to be silent 24/7. But it can certainly help if you're a cat owner who's trying to get some sleep.
