Cleveland Browns sign 5 of 6 draft picks, 7 undrafted free agents ahead of rookie minicamp

BEREA — The Cleveland Browns announced the signing of five of their six draft picks on the day their rookie minicamp is scheduled to start.

Third-round pick Zak Zinter, fifth-round pick Jamari Thrash, sixth-round pick Nathaniel Watson and seventh-round picks Myles Harden and Jowon Briggs were all signed. Second-round pick Michael Hall Jr. remains unsigned, but he can still participate in this weekend's rookie minicamp.

Zinter was the No. 85 pick in last month's draft. The offensive guard out Michigan and Hall, the defensive tackle out of Ohio State taken at No. 54, were the lone second-day draft picks for the Browns.

Thrash, a wide receiver out of Louisville, was taken No. 156 in the fifth-round. Watson, a linebacker out of Mississippi State, was taken No. 206 in the sixth round.

Harden, a cornerback out of South Dakota, was taken with pick No. 227 in the seventh round. Briggs, a defensive tackle out of Cincinnati, was taken with pick No. 243.

The Browns also announced seven undrafted free agent signings on Friday morning. Those players are:

  • Javion Cohen, OG, Miami (Fla.)

  • Christopher Edmonds, S, Arizona State

  • Dyshawn Gales, CB, South Dakota State

  • Winston Reid, LB, Weber State

  • Aidan Robbins, RB, BYU

  • Lorenzo Thompson, OT, Rhode Island

  • Treyton Welch, TE, Wyoming

Cleveland Browns bring in 7 on tryout basis

The Browns have seven players in rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. Those players are:

  • Jacob Simon, QB, Northern Colorado

  • Chase Williams, S, San Jose State

  • Jourdan Townsend, WR, Delaware

  • Brady Breeze, S, Oregon

  • Landon Honeycutt, LB, Mars Hill

  • Clevan Thomas, WR, Montana State

  • Tyrese Chambers, WR, Maryland
